Composer's Toolkit

An essential companion to any budding creator, the Composer’s Toolkit is a framework for students to build their own musical compositions. Scaffolded to fit a range of ages and skill levels, these compositional activities are adaptable for use in the classroom, the studio, or at home.

Participants will be encouraged to share their work, with an opportunity to be featured on the California Festival Website in November 2023. The California Festival aims to bring together resources and creativity, allowing educators and students across the state to connect with each other and highlight the musical talents from their own communities.

All activities can be adapted for different ages, skill levels, and types of learners. For those that need a little more guidance, suggested composition strategies and supporting worksheets have been included.
